About Christ Was Born to Save
With carols new and old, the friars of the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C., celebrate Christmas with their fourth album, Christ Was Born to Save (released November, 2016). The music of this album, recorded in the resonant acoustic of Washington’s Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land, proclaims the reason that God took on our humanity by being born as a child in Bethlehem: to save us from sin and death and to fit us for heaven. Favorites such as “Away in a Manger,” “O Come, All Ye Faithful,” and “Silent Night” and are included along with many other beautiful carols, chants, and choral works.
