This is the fifth video in a series on St. Thomas Aquinas and the virtue of faith.

Unlike humans, angels don’t have or need faith, do they? Or even if they did, it would be easy–effortless, even–for them to believe in God, right?

Not so fast. In some ways, as Fr. Serge-Thomas Bonino, O.P., of the Province of Toulouse, France, explains, St. Thomas thinks it is actually more difficult for angels to believe than for humans. Watch this video commentary on Summa Theologiae IIa IIae q. 5 aa 1-2 to learn a number of surprising, fascinating ideas about how the faith of angels functions in relation to human faith.
