O Image of the Father’s Face: A Hymn

O Image of the Father’s face,
Who bore the flesh of Adam’s race,
We in our exile pray that you
Would heal our hearts, our minds renew.

O Firstborn of the Father’s love,
Sent down to earth from heav’n above,
You bore the cross to make us one,
Sons of the Father in the Son.

O Head of all you claim on earth,
Source of the waters of new birth,
You shed your blood to make us whole —
Lead us to our eternal goal.

Beginning of unending life,
Who vanquish enmity and strife,
Cause all our vanities to cease
And fill us with your gift of peace.

O God of mercy, Three in One,
Made known to us by Christ, the Son,
To you all praise and honor be,
Both now and to eternity. Amen.
